A very stylish seasonal tealight holder featuring holly leaves and berries on all four sides. Hand cast in bonded aluminium.
Measing approximately 6cm x 6cm x 6m, each holder weighs 200g, has a felt base to protect your surface and comes with a free unscented tealight for your convenience.
What other customers said about this item:
"Wow it's gorgeous and perfect for my Christmas Dinner Table"
*Never leave your tealights burning unattended and always use candles in trays like the one provided.
How it's made
I carved the basic tealight holder from plaster of paris.
A silicone mould and plaster support shell was made and a polyester resin copy made in the mould.
I then sculpted the holly design in clay and made a further mould.
4 identical holly designs were cast in this mould and glued to the resin tealight holder.
A further and final silicone and plaster mould was made of the finished master.
Aluminium powder is mixed with a polyester resin gelcoat and painted onto the inside of the mould.
Then more polyester resin is mixed with a lighweight and heat absorbing filler such as fillite or glass fiber strands and poured into the cavity in the mould.
Once this has cured, the tealight is popped from the mould. At this stage, the tealight is a dull grey colour. Polishing with fine grade wire wool removed the resin from the surface of the gelcoat revealing and polishing the aluminium to a shine.
A small square of adhesive backed felt is cut to size and affixed to the base.
Finally, the holder is tested by burning a tealight for 4 hours.
