I was wandering around a little town called Newport in Shropshire, and happened upon a fab little 1970s sewing book full of lovely fabric swatches and ideas for projects. I have a few of these kind of books in my collection and love repurposing the imagery in my jewellery. These earrings feature a genuine 1970s fabric pattern, upcycled into heart shaped ear studs that represent my love for crafts and haberdashery!

Full description
These heart shaped ear studs have been lovingly hand crafted using wood, resin and vintage papers to create a one off piece for yourself, or perhaps as a gift.
The hearts start life as little lasercut wooden shapes (approx 1cm), which are then sanded and smoothed by hand. They have also been hand painted and varnished, to create a shabby chic distressed wood style edging.
The surface design is a delicate paper collage created using upcycled images of fabric from a vintage 1970s sewing books. These are an original design, and you will not find them anywhere else!
The hearts have been coated with a thin layer of crystal clear resin, which sets in a lovely, slightly domed shape and protects the vintage papers from damage.
Finally the hearts are buffed and polished to make them lovely and shiny, and are attached to silver plated ear studs.
These heart studs are cute and kitsch, and perfect for lovers of craft, vintage and haberdashery!
