Full description

Recently I was walking along a canal pathway when I came across a wall covered in graffiti, now some of it can be seen as an art form, some not (it would be better in my view if the 'artist' laid it on canvas!) never the less it inspired me to create my own bit of 'graffiti' on this oak bowl!

Using one of my girlfriends cardmaking rubber stamps and a few different coloured ink pads (Its ok I asked first!) I set about just creating a random pattern, after first texturing the outside with a wire brush and laying on yellow acrylic paint. When I achieved the look I was after, I then carved and scorched the top and inside rim of the bowl separating the coloured outside from the natural beauty of the oak on the inside.

Measuring 165mm x 75mm (6 1/2 ins x 3 ins) the piece has been finished with several coats of shellac sealer and beeswax and has been signed and dated using English and Runic lettering.
