Full description

This is the story of Charlotte Dymond, 18-year-old servant girl at Penhale Farm, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, England.

It is early April, 1844 and the cold frost of winter is still felt over the moor.

Charlotte has been keeping comany for the last year or two with local farmhand, Matthew Weeks. More recently, a nephew of Charlotte's employer, named Thomas Prout, had become a rival for Charlotte's affections. Unsurprisingly, matthew and Thomas did not get along well.

On the afternoon of Sunday 14th April, Charlotte and Matthew put on their best clothes and went for a walk. The two were sighted strolling along a roadside nearby a little while later. Charlotte was never seen alive again.

To this day, people swear they see Charlotte walking nightly over the moor, down the hill, and up to the gate where she had died.
