Full description

Socrates is a very clever Snail. He is a true sesquipedalian and the apotheosis of erudition. He enjoys nothing better than polemical deliberations with his gastropod confederates.

Socrates is made entirely from polymer clay, apart from his onyx eyes and flower stamen feelers. His shell is made from marble effect clay, with a black and white geometric key pattern created using a millefiori technique. Socrates (or Slowcrates, as some of his detractors call him) is 6.5cm long and 3cm high.

Socrates is signed with an artist's mark - a slice of my unique monogram 'QC' cane. He comes in a smart presentation box with a signed certificate, and will be sent safely by recorded delivery post within the UK.

Socrates is pictured here with his good friend Epicurus, who was made as a special commission.
