Full description
This fused glass panel is freestanding so will standing in full view of any admirers. Maybe on a window sill, a mantlepiece, or hearth? It measures 23cm x 10.5cm.
This glass was made by me in my home studio (or more commonly known as the garage). Onto a white bullseye glass base copper wire was placed to represent stems. Gold purple Bullseye glass cut and applied to represent the flower heads and powdered glass & enamels added to represent grassland. A clear layer of glass was then added.
This sandwich of glass was then fused together in a digitally controlled kiln to ensure stability & prevent cracking. It was then fired again to achieve its' wave shape on a mould. Each firing takes 12 hours. Bubbles do sometimes form where air is trapped in between the glass and should these should be treated as part of the charm of the piece.
Fused glass is quite durable and whilst I wouldn't recommend that you throw it around (!), if you drop it, it shouldn't break, (unless perhaps it's on a tiled floor from a great height!)

This item will be packed in layers of bubblewrap and sent in a box. It will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery.
