Full description
This is natural blue coral from the waters off Japan, and is very rare. No longer harvested, this is a pre-ban bead. The colour you see is completely natural, not dyed.
This totally cool and vintage piece of coral came from a jeweller who aquired it in the 1950s, but never used it. I managed to get a hold of five of these beauties...and I'm keeping one for myself, that's how lovely I think it is!
The coral is beautiful denim, cobalt blue, with sky blue veining in the center. The sides are tan, the original outer layer of the coral. The piece measures approximately 13 to 15mm long and 5 to 6mm thick, and it hangs very simply from a 40cm silver chain.
