Full description
This is a beautiful piece of tablet woven narrow silk band. The band has been woven using 100% spun Mulberry silk. The band is 100cm long and 1cm wide. A good length for trimming cuffs and necklines. I have hand dyed the silk using natural plant dyes (Madder, Woad and Weld). These dyes would have been readily available from Viking times onwards, making this a lovely trim for reenactment use.
The pattern looks good on both sides as you can see on the images. It's been woven with only two threads per tablets making it thinner and more supple. The silk gives it a lovely sheen.
