Full description

The two little owls and bird in this mobile have been hand-crafted from a felted*, much loved, charcoal grey wool sweater.

Leather and felt scraps have been used for their tiny features. They've then been lightly stuffed and have been hand-stitched in contrasting thread.

The owls are about 4cm high and their friend, bird, is 10cm long.

Mounted with cotton thread, onto a twig, gathered from my local woods, and hanging from a length of black satin, these engaging little chaps would look fantastic in a child's bedroom or make a great gift for an owl/bird lover of any age.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS ITEM HAS NOW SOLD. I can make similar mobiles to order. Please contact me about different colour and owl/bird combinations and I'll try my very best to meet your requirements.

*Knitted woollen garments which shrink in a hot machine wash can be said to have felted but, more accurately, they have been "fulled". Felting differs from fulling in the sense that fulling is done to fabric whereas felting is done to fibres that are not in fabric form. Modern fulling is an example of how the fibres bond together when combined with the movement of the washing machine, the heat of the water, and the addition of soap.
