Full description
Fountain pen made from Native Burr Oak. Set off beautifuly against Shiny Silver metalwork. A nice feature of this particular pen style is that the cap can be posted when in use. This particular pen also features a high quality German Iridium Nib, which will give many years of writing pleasure.
Burrs are formed in timber when the tree fails to properly form a new limb during its growing season, the result is some fantastic grain patterns and colours. It should be noted that the result of turning this type of timber leaves a series of depressions in the timber, look closely at the photos and you'll see what I meen, personally I think it makes the pen even more special.
The pen has been hand turned by myself and finished with a hard wearing wax finish.
This pen will require little attention through its life, only a quick buffing with a clean cloth every now and then. If you really want to treat it give it a polish with a good quality natural beeswax furniture polish, but never a silicon based polish.
