I was wandering around a little town called Newport in Shropshire, and happened upon a fab little 1970s sewing book full of lovely fabric swatches and ideas for projects. I have a few of these kind of books in my collection and love repurposing the imagery in my jewellery. This necklace features a genuine 1970s fabric pattern, upcycled into heart shaped pendant that represent my love for crafts and haberdashery!

Full description
This wood and resin heart shaped pendant necklace has been hand crafted to create a one off piece for yourself, or perhaps as a gift.
The pendant starts life as a lasercut wooden shape, which is then sanded and smoothed by hand. The surface design is a delicate paper collage which I created using vintage and upcycled papers taken from vintage sewing books.
The pendant is then coated with a crystal clear resin, which sets in a lovely domed shape and protects the surface from damage.
Next the pendant is drilled and polished by hand, and strung on an antique brass chain. The heart is approx. 2.5cm, and the chain is 44cm.
