Full description

This cute little owl hails from an area known as Warley Woods but she'd be perfectly happy in almost any habitat. A mantelpiece, windowsill or bookcase would be ideal. She's fully house-trained and doesn't need food or water, just your love.

I have hand-crafted this little creature from a much loved, blue cashmere jumper sleeve, which I have 'felted', or to give it the correct term, fulled (*see below). Vintage buttons and fabric scraps are hand stitched to create her unique features. She stands about 12cm tall.

Her bottom is filled with rice to add weight and help her stand. The hollowfibre filling used to stuff this little owl complies with the furniture and furnishings (fire) (safety) regulations 1988.

Postage costs include the cost of packaging. I will send your owl by first class post unless otherwise agreed. She would fly, but this singular owl is from a rare wingless variety.

* Knitted woollen garments which shrink in a hot machine wash can be said to have felted but, more accurately, they have been "fulled". Felting differs from fulling in the sense that fulling is done to fabric whereas felting is done to fibres that are not in fabric form. Modern fulling is an example of how the fibres bond together when combined with the movement of the washing machine, the heat of the water, and the addition of soap.
