Full description
This decoupaged wooden box was inspired by a post card written in the 1920's to Daisy, which decorates the inside. On the outside I have sourced images from 1920's textile patterns, and the lid shows a French fashion illustration from the same period with a demure drawing of a girl in her undies. 'Les Dessous a la Mode' translates as fashionable underwear!
The bottom of the box shows a little drawing of stockings and a fragment of French perfume label and the edges are decoupaged with pages taken from '101 Things for a Housewife To Do'. It has been 'distressed' with gold pigment.
This little box is perfect for keeping your little precious mementos, jewellery and odd bits and pieces, and would make a lovely gift.
The decoration is protected with layers of varnish and signed underneath.
