Full description
Handspun yarn with the tones and textures of denim, pebbles, sand, and summer sky. While I was plying this yarn together, its gentle colors reminded me of the Pacific Northwest beaches I grew up on, running around in faded jeans, water softened stones all around me.
This skein is made from recycled denim scraps left over from blue jeans manufacturing, white bamboo and Chinese nettle fibers, earthy brown flax, and turquoise and cornflower blue merino fleece (colored with non toxic dyes). I’ve spun it mildly thick & thin to bring out the texture of the plant fibers and made it into a two ply yarn for stability and strength.
A 100 gram (3.5 ounce) two ply skein, approximately 56 yards long, spun in a pet and smoke free environment. Yarn gauge = 7 to 8 wraps per inch, Chunky to Aran.
