Annie is a style of rag doll popular in the US. They are loosely based on Raggedy Ann, a fictional character created by American writer Johnny Gruelle (1880–1938).
This doll is made of calico which has been stained with coffee. She has stripey legs.
Her dress and bloomers are 100% quilters cottons.
Her eyes are hand painted. Annie's nose mouth and eyebrows are hand embroidered. Her hair is pink fancy yarn. (note that these dolls are traditionally bald at the back.
She is made from a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern.
She measures 36cm or 14 1/2 " from the top of her head to her feet.
Because of the buttons and bows she is not suitable for small children.
