Full description
This wooden box measures 20cm x 6cm and is 6cm tall.
It has been altered to look like an ancient rusty box for quills and scrolls on a "travel theme", with a hint of steampunk flavour about it. Using Phileas Fogg and Around the world in 80 days as inspiration.
the box was firstly decorated with the bottom layer of embellishments (cogs and gears) then once in place the whole thing was given a coat of Iron based paint. followed by rust activating solution. then the bulkier embellishments were added ( Penny Farthing bike, Hot air balloon, mini brass aeroplane, mini brass binoculars, true false indicator, dial/ arrow) and the whole thing was given a second coat of the iron paint and rust solution. A coat of protective varnish was then added followed by a final coat of the iron and rust duo.
the edges have been decorated to give the impression of rusty nails or rivets.
