Full description
This little bee pendant features a shard of glazed brown and yellow pottery, which I found in the Thames (London).
I was told that this particular piece of pottery is from the medieval period!
The bee is hand pierced out of copper, and the wings and body are etched. The pottery shard has been set in a strip of fine silver, and the chain, bail and clasps are all sterling silver. They have all been oxidised to a rich black, slightly distressed, then sealed with jewellers wax to protect the finish.
Dimensions:
Pendant is just under 1 1/4 inches wide, and about 1 inch long. (2.8 x 2.5 cm)
Chain is 18 inches (46 cm)
If you would like a slightly longer or shorter chain, please contact me.
The last picture shows this item with some other pieces I have made, but this listing is for the bee in the main picture only.
All my items will be sent in a gift box with my logo.

I try and find out as much as I can about the pottery shards I collect, and was told by a ceramic artist that this piece is from the medieval period, so extremely old!
I love the fact that I am able to incorporate a little piece of handmade history into each of the pieces I make, and that each piece is totally unique.
