Full description
This is a rough and tumble, rustic, and rugged yarn - one of my more eccentric ones, I think. I spun the curly locks of Wensleydale sheep and plied them with the smooth but strong fleece from the sheep of northern England’s Cheviot Hills. This has created a sort of medieval looking yarn, naturally cream and slightly yellow in colour, thick and thin, and very tough.
Perhaps useful to a historical re-enactor? As eccentric fringe for a scarf? Texture for a tapestry? It’s an odd yarn, I know; I’d love to find out what it becomes part of...
A 50 gram ball, yarn gauge = Bulky (5-6 wraps per inch), approximately 16 yards long.
(Beware: A few bits of this yarn have slight greenish marks, due to how the farmer marked his flock. You can see it in the main photo.)
