"The Great Silkie of Sule Skerry" is an Orkney folk ballad related to other well-known myths of "selkies" or "seal-people". It's a beautiful, haunting story, and is adapted here alongside evocative charcoal illustrations.
Each book is hand-bound using pastel paper and linen thread, and is printed on high-quality cartridge or watercolour paper. Please note that most of the "Silkie" books are now stitched with black linen thread, rather than white - the photos were taken a while ago but the black linen thread is both more readily available and IMO looks a bit more pleasing. :)
