Full description

Gorgeous yarn made from the recycled thrums from industrial artificial-silk sari weaving. Banana fibre is a rayon. This is a really pretty, wonderfully soft yarn. As you can see in the photos there are lots of colours, but it doesnt look too much - it works. My sari silk yarns are handspun by womens co-operatives in India

Skein weighs 100g, approx length is 80m (please note:I have not personally measured this).

As you can see from the photos this yarn knits and crochets very nicely. I used a 10mm hook, and very big old wooden knitting needles - no number on them but I'd guess they are about 15mm.

I am a wet felter & use sari silk yarns to incorporate into the surface design of my felt. They also make fantastic funky doll hair if you are a doll artist.

I do have more than 1 skein available, if you would like more please email me - I will happily create a listing especially for you if I have the quantity you require.

Cool handwash, dry naturally - preferably flat.

From a smoke free home. Sari silk yarns do have a slight odour about them, but this does wash out - and significantly lessens from airing.
