Full description
Gorgeous reycled silk yarn made from the thrums from industrial sari weaving. Theres lots of lovely blue in this yarn. These sari silk yarns are handspun by womens co-operatives in India
Skein weighs 100g, approx length is 80m (please note:I have not personally measured this).
As you can see from the photos this yarn knits and crochets very nicely. I used a 10mm hook, and very big old wooden knitting needles - no number on them but I'd guess they are about 15mm.
I am a wet felter & use sari silk yarns to incorporate into the surface design of my felt. They also make fantastic funky doll hair if you are a doll artist.
I do have more than 1 skein available, if you would like more please email me - I will happily create a listing especially for you if I have the quantity you require.
Cool handwash, dry naturally - preferably flat.
From a smoke free home. Sari silk yarns do have a slight odour about them, but this does wash out - and significantly lessens from airing.
