*This actual backpack has been sold, but I make these to order in fabrics from my beautiful collection of recycled and vintage textiles. Just contact me with the age of the child and gender and I can suggest some other fabric options*
Made from recycled French upholstery fabrics, I designed this backpack for my two year old after not being able to find anything that fit well, stayed on and looked in proportion to his size. Plus it's really unique.
This backpack is designed for a first walker to about a four or five year old. It has a little button off strap/harness at the front that keeps the shoulder straps from sliding off small shoulders. It has a special button on the front flap and a crochet cord tie to close. The straps are elasticised to make getting the bag on and off easier.
I use upholstery fabrics because they are robust and have lovely patterns with a vintage feel. I like mixing up the patterns on each side of the bag. I can make custom backpacks too if you prefer different colours. If you specify which colours you are after I can send you some fabric swatches by email for you to choose from. Made to order takes 2-3 days.
If you would like to make one yourself I have also made this pattern available for free on my blog at http://www.brennajensen.com - I only ask for your comments so i can get a feel for who is using my pattern and how you find it, as I'm designing more cute patterns for all you crafters out there and would love the feedback.
