Full description

This 57cm neckace features enamelled copper wire which tones with the earthy colours of the sunstone donuts and poppy jasper beads used to create the design. I have used the wire to wrap some of the beads, suspending them in groups to leave the wire visible. The necklace is finished with a vermeil gold clasp. The sunstone donuts are a chunky 2 cms in diameter but is light to wear because I have used the wire as a feature in the design.

I have made matching earrings as well as a matching bracelet to make up a set if you fancy more than one piece of this lovely shimmery stone (listed separately).

All of my pieces are made from genuine gemstones and precious metals, and this piece is finished with a vermeil gold clasp. I choose the gemstones for each piece with their healing and energetic qualities in mind, and I combine colours and textures to produce unique pieces of handmade jewellery to bring you pleasure and healing energy.

This piece features sunstone donuts, a shimmery copper-coloured gem also known as aventurine feldspare. It is called the 'Warm Stone' because its colours are reddish and they glow due to the tiny plate inclusions of haematite found within it. At an energy level sunstone warms the spirit and purifies the body. It is important to be able to see this stone, look into its depths and warm and comfort your spirit with its sunny qualities.

Poppy jasper is a lovely deep earthy red-brown colour and is one of the opaque varieties believed by Native Americans to extract the poison from snake bites and help bring rain. Red jaspers have strong protective qualities, guarding you against poison and fever. Due to the presence of haematite in the stone, which is what gives the gem its red colour, poppy jasper has a beneficial effect on the blood.
