Full description
This Item has been created using a reclaimed vintage frame and a reclaimed canvas both found at an antiques and bric-a-brac fair.
The frame is ornate so to compliment it the canvas has been given a great deal of texture and movement allowing the subject matter to spill out over to the frame.
The piece has been done as a textured representation of rust and ageing using colour; and verdigris using an artists acidic medium to give the green patina.
the image is of a praying angelic child and the word HOPE has been printed out on to sheet music.
the majority of the background was created using vintage book pages, hand rusted paper and paper lace as well as texture pastes, embossing enamel and patches of gold and copper metal leaf.
the flourishes in the top left hand corner stand out from the piece and spread over to the frame in an organic manner.
Please take in to account that not only are the frame and canvas vintage but the piece has also been done in a shabby chic distressed aged manner.
