Getting a diagnosis can be a long and difficult process. When I finally was given mine, I looked for an item of jewellery to commemorate it but couldn’t find anything in the UK.
One thing that I find helps to explain to people what it’s like to live with a chronic illness is The Spoon Theory* which is why I have included a mini spoon charm - so you always have a spare one on hand if needed!
The Lupus symbol is a butterfly. This is due to the butterfly shaped rash that often accompanies the condition.
The awareness colour is purple. This is a lovely calming colour, which brings peace of mind and creativity.
The final charm is an awareness ribbon with the word hope written on it - something we all need.
This bracelet is made from dark purple glass pearls and large purple faceted beads that sparkle in the light. Finally, two little purple bicones finish it off.
It comes with a butterfly toggle clasp. The bracelet measures 23cm.
