Full description

Berwick-upon-Tweed is a town in the county of Northumberland. It is the northernmost town in England, on the east coast at the mouth of the River Tweed, and situated 2.5 miles (4 km) south of the Scottish border.

During the half-term holidays in October 2007, my family and I went north to Scotland. After breaking our journey with a night in a campsite on Hadrian's Wall (in a cabin...not a tent...too cold in October!) we continued to our holiday let near Duns, just over the Scottish border. The nearest "big shops" were in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, so we had the odd experience (very exciting for the children!) of staying in one country and shopping in another. Okay, it thrilled me each border crossing too...One visit to Berwick saw us walk right around the town walls, taking in the glorious views, including the bridges. I love this photo - the main bridge in the foreground, easy to spot, and then you notice the second bridge way in the distance!

This photograph has been printed using 220gsm matt canvas inkjet paper, giving it the appearance of having been printed on fabric, and hand-coloured in places, using Derwent "Inktense" pencils, to highlight aspects of the photo, and to give it a "painterly" feel, and meaning each print will be unique, as different aspects may be highlighted, and with a different intensity. It is in A4 format. The edition is limited to 25 prints. The copyright remains with me, as the original photographer, and each print has been signed and dated on the back by me.

When purchased, this print will be posted in a card-backed envelope, for added protection.

All proceeds from the sale of this item go towards sending my daughter to the 22nd World Scouting Jamboree, to be held in July, in Skåne, Sweden.
