Full description
Barney Owl is a huggable squidgy knitted toy. I designed my squidgy animals collection for a friend who was learning to knit, and wanted some easy toy patterns.
The pattern only requires you to know how to knit, purl, cast on, cast off, increase using KFB (knit front and back), and decrease using K2TOG (knit two stitches together).
The pattern is my own design. It is 9 pages, printed in colour, and includes row by row instructions so you don’t forget your place. You will need to sew the finished owl together, and step by step construction photos are included in the pattern.
All pieces are knitted flat on 3mm straight needles. To knit the owl you will need approximately 50g double knit yarn in green, 50g in grey, 10g in yellow, plus 100g toy stuffing. You will also need black buttons for eyes, white felt fabric and button for decoration. You can choose different wools, colours and needle sizes to make your owl.
The finished owl is approximately 12cm high.
