The Green Man: Long Pocket watch necklace
This piece it utterly unique. I combined elements and assembled it in such a way that I wouldn't be able to replicate it even if I wanted to.
A green man stamping is then attached to filigree and added to the pretty filigree cover of this working pocket watch.
I wanted to keep it simple, yet in keeping with the symbology so added a simple black rose, and a textured chain.
This is quite a large pocket watch. just over 2.75" high including fob.
Chain is 36" and has no clasp. If you would prefer a clasp or would like the length adjusting just drop me a line.
Made in a smoke free home by me.

About the green man
If you’re a nature lover, the Green Man should be your symbol! If you’re wondering why, then you better read on.
The Green Man is a mystifying and creepy figure that’s largely seen in medieval European stonework. From the name itself, the Green Man is believed to symbolize a prehistoric god of vegetation. Its appearance also complements with its name as it appears as a “foliate head”. His face consists of leaves and vines making him look like a human face staring out from the leaves. In other times, he’s also seen with some animal features.
The name “Green man” was derived in the late 1930s. It’s also known as the Jack in green or Jack of the Green. Other people believe that the Green Man is associated with another Celtic deity, Cernunnos. Others believe that it’s a representation of the forces of nature and it’s an aide memoire that as human beings, we are a bigger part of the whole cycle of life. Unlike other figures, the Green Man has never been proven to be associated with a particular philosophy, cult, or belief.
But the Green Man has not only appeared in Europe. In fact, you can also find similar images of the Green Man in Asian, Indian and Arabic architecture and art masterpieces. But no matter how the Green Man began, the Neopagan religious movement has used the Green Man as a symbolic mascot. They look up to the Green Man an epithet of the wild nature, a symbol of a very important male person as well as an emblem of fruitfulness and a vivacious life!
