Full description

This is a small (miniature) vase, approx; 4" high and 1 1/2" diameter . I originally turned these as bud vases however, they also make lovely holders for pens, pencils, paintbrushes or any other item that needs a special place (my partner has since used them for all the above and even storing jos-sticks).

This one is turned from Bone Oak and I have others available (please view my other listings). Bone Oak is Oak which has dried and seasoned on the tree and is full of character with a colouring and patina totally unlike any cut Oak, it has light and dark sides (1 side bleached from the sun) and often contains fissures and cracks which add to the character.

This one has a narrow neck and is suitable for one pen, or a few paintbushes (depending on size) - or quite a few dried buds!

It is not really suitable for filling with water (the wood would soak most of it up!) however; fresh buds can be wrapped in damp tissue and foil to keep the stems moist.

The base has not been hollowed which helps to keep the weight at the bottom so they don't tip over!

I have quite a few of these in different woods which I will be listing over the next few days (please see my other listings) - however if you see one you like that has not yet been listed please feel free to contact me to see if it is available.

I am also happy to make them out of any other particular wood (depending on availability of the wood) if there is a certain wood you have a soft spot for!

I am lucky enough to have quite a good selection of woods available to me - all the woods used are local to us (as a lot of 'specimen' trees were planted many years ago) however if you want a more exotic wood the price would rise if I had to find or order it specially).

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.

(Also available are Sycamore, Yew, Applewood, Cherry, Walnut and an unknown 'mystery' wood!)
