When I was little, I had a story book about the circus and I was always fascinated by the shapes in the pictures - the tents, the drums, the little plinths that the lions sat on, the costumes.... This pixie design is inspired by that book, as it was my favourite as a chid. The colours in this particular hat come from the colours of my neighbour's camellia tree, which has lovely coral coloured blooms and glossy green leaves. I can see it from my studio window, so it was a ready-made colourscheme...

This all-cotton soft pixie hat is fresh off the needles and ready for any recently arrived pixie head...
It's knitted from 2 strands of fine cotton, in pink/orange to make a coral-mix main colour, and the contrast trims of bright leaf green and deep jade are added on separately afterwards. I then hand sew it all up to finish it off and add a tassel on the end made from all three colours.
This hat shape was inspired by a childhood favourite storybook I once had about a circus big top tent and its goings-on. I have made, and can make these hats in many colours or sizes so please ask if there is another colour or size that would suit your needs. This pixie is designed to fit a baby from 6 months to about a year in age, but please check the sizes as there's no such thing as an 'average' sized baby head!
