Full description

This unique whistle will be a welcome addition to any Steampunks utility belt or handbag, as well as being an unusual gift for any dog lover.

Set at a very high pitch, this whistle can easily be heard by dogs making it an ideal training aid. The metal is gold plated, giving it that bright brass look without having to polish! At the other end is a link which can be attached to a keyring, bag, belt, or hung around the neck on a cord. I have made a borosilicate glass centre with lots of colour to make it more eye-catching.

As Steampunks are likely to get into many scrapes and adventures, I can see this being quite useful; whether it's getting attention of huskies in the Artic, or distracting werewolves in London, this will do the job while adding a touch of extra style to any outfit.

This from tip to end (not including the 24mm keyring loop) is 91mm long. At the thickest part it's about 13mm. There are a lot of colours in this, with a large band of turquoise green-blues, deep metalic blues at the loop end, as well as swirls of deep reds, yellows and pink/purples. The way that borosilicate colours work they tend to shift with the light, and have amazing depth and intensity.

The centre of the whistle is hollow to keep down weight, and I've lined it with brass tubing which helps reflect light back up through the glass making it look even more shiney and bright!

The glass is fully annealed in a microprocessor controlled kiln, and will be supplied gift boxed. It was hand formed in a propane/oxygen flame.

All the glass I make is always slightly different, so are always a true one of a kind piece of artisan flamework made entirely by hand by lampwork in my studio in the heart of the English countryside
