If you can't stop thinking about cakes, don't head for the bakery, instead create yourself a calorie-free treat with this fab and funky crochet pattern.
These quirky cakes were featured in Let's Get Crafting Crochet, issue 23.
Pattern includes full instructions for the basic cake slice, which is cleverly crocheted in one piece, leaving only 3 seams to sew. Instructions to make the four cakes shown are also provided in full, including toppings, for:
lemon drizzle cake
pink layer cake
key lime pie
blue birthday cake
You can mix and match the toppings to create your own slice of cake.
The pattern is written in UK crochet terms, with full US conversion table for those who follow US crochet terms.
The pattern uses double knitting weight yarn with a 4mm hook (US G/6).
You will need to know how to
chain
slip stitch
double crochet (US single crochet)
treble crochet (US double crochet)
increase and decrease
