Full description

A recycled champagne bottle cheese board. I have prepared and then fired in a kiln different types of champagne bottles. They slump to form a flat surface.Bumpers on the base protect surfaces. Green glass beads and wire have been added to the top for interest.

A stainless steel cheese knife from Sheffield(Grunweg) is included.

The bottle works well as a cheese board. I have also used them for grapes and canapes.

This would be a great present for a cheese or wine lover as well as being very eco-friendly.

Please note : The bottles do not behave simarly in the kiln. Some bottles have bubbles near the neck or small whitish patches especiallly at the base. They are all fit for purpose and look fab.

You will not receive the one in the picture but one much nicer!

The champagne bottles are much, much heavier than the wine bottles as the glass is so much thicker. They are in my opinion far superior, they have a nicer shape, are flatter generally , feel more durable and are deep green.

Unfortunately I can fire less of these at a time and so the production costs are significantly higher.

I HAVE 3 PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHICH ONE YOU WOULD LIKE IN A MESSAGE TO SELLER.

a) Bottle green with a white discolouration (could call it snow! ) around where the old base of the bottle was.

b) Browner more olive green, very flat , no white marks.A few non shiny patches on base.

c) A stubbier bottle of an unknown variety. It measures 27cm long and 16cm wide so short and fat ! There are a few white patches around the base but these are less obvious than on the first. This one does however have a fine uneven root like pattern on the glass from the firing process. You can also see 2 squares through the bottle where it is propped up in the kiln. I have made this sound weird I know but it's actually my favourite as it's so unusual.
