The butterflies in this piece were extracted from a selection of vintage cartography. Each butterfly destination was selected by the client, sourced by me, the triple layer wings hand cut, hand sewn and attached.
The butterflies rest on a slightly off white background.
The piece comes in a black wood shadow box measuring 23cm x 18cm (outer dimensions of the frame) which can be either freestanding or hung.
I completely welcome custom projects, think about locations that are special to you, places you have lived, your honeymoon destination, places you love. I will source books, maps, lyrics, quotes or anything you require.
