Gracie loves this time of year! All the maidens come out to play and the long awaited Inspired Maiden Parade approaches.
Paloma Sunday was tipped to be the winner of ‘most inspired use of literature with baking’ (known for her mint and brown sugar cupcakes with edible love letter butterflies) Gracie made her something to wear on the day!
This versatile creation can be worn as a hair band,a sash/ ribbon belt, neckwear, wristwear or on brim of hat.
The flower and butterfly piece have a layer of pale aqua good quality wool mix felt on top of a beige leather back. On top of this sits a blanket stitched flower of vintage bluey green fabric on pale aqua felt. This is topped with a cream lace appliqué and four cream glass pearls. Nestling next to the flower is a double layered pale aqua felt butterfly with tea dyed lace and a diamante button. The main piece has a pale aqua satin ribbon (5/8” deep)sewn through it. One size fits all and the whole piece is 66” long including the flower and butterfly (which are 4” wide)
All the pieces have been cut out and carefully stitched by hand. When wearing; simply tie to whatever length you choose.
