Full description

copyright Elizabeth Lovick 2008

The shawl is knitted from the centre out, and the notes to the pattern give suggestions for altering the shawl to suit your yarn and your fancy!

The pattern itself runs to 14 sides. All but the final section is both charted and has round-by-round written instructions. Five possible edgings are given, again both charted and with written instructions. There are then 15 sides of notes, including suggestions for making the shawl smaller, and detailed instructions on dressing (blocking) the shawl.

Things you need to know need to make the shawl:

Materials

1 x 450 g cone Jamieson and Smith's 2 ply Supreme Lace Weight (see below)

4 mm needles

row counter

stitch markers as desired

blunt sewing needle for weaving in ends

Size

About 7 feet in diameter. The shawl is very stretchy!

Note that the shawl as photographed does not have an edging knitted on sideways.

The pattern gives instructions for several edgings. If you want to knit on an edging you will need a second cone of yarn.

Tension

About 22 sts and 34 rows to 10 cm (4 ins).

The Small Print!

Once I have received your payment I will send the pattern as a pdf attachment to an email. The file size is 1.5 MB so your inbox must be big enough to take a file of that size. All sales are final.

Please remember that this pattern is copyright, and you cannot use the pattern to make garments for sale without my permission. Thank you.
