Full description
I should make it clear that these are awesome animals on a mobile, and not an awesome mobile with animals, although the mobile is quite good.
A handmade mobile depicting(from largest to the smallest) a Baird's tapir, a three toed sloth, a nine banded armadillo, a tamandua, and a tree pangolin hanging by it's tail. There is no real connection between the animals, other than their awesomeness. All the animals are from South America, apart from the pangolin who is African, but he is currently involved in an animal exchange program so counts as South American for mobile purposes.
The animals were hand drawn by me and then laser cut. They are made from 3mm thick plywood from sustainably managed forests in Finland and have a natural finish. Because of the nature of laser cutting there may be slight burn marks round the edges, as you can see on the Tapir, but this adds character. There is only detail on one side of each animal.
The mobile is made from 6mm wooden dowel and black polyester thread, at the top is a 16mm nickel split ring to allow it to be hung.
The tapir is 180mm (7inch) long and 110mm (4 1/2inch) high and the tamandua is 90mm (4inch) long and 30mm (1 1/4inch) high.
As each mobile is handmade they vary slightly.
If I didn't already own one I would buy one.
