Full description
Carved from Sycamore this piece stands approximately 9 to 9 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
He is finished in Danish Oil and Liquid wax offering an antique look.
This is a wood carving from found wood that had splits (shakes) in it. I personally like the splits and carve around them. The splits wont get any larger, unless the carving is exposed to temperature and moisture extremes.
This carving would survive outdoors but I would recommend with any wood carving to bring it in for the winter and re-wax it every year with beeswax.
The detail on this carving ensured it took about 25+ hours to complete.
Wall hanging or desk standing he would look great in a study or library.
