Full description

This beautiful light but warm scarf is made from a gorgeous, variegated sock yarn. The yarn moves elegantly through colour changes from greens through lilacs to violet. A lace knit pattern makes this a very pretty and feminine short scarf for the autumn and spring. The scarf is knitted on the diagonal, making the short edges gracefully sloped. It is fringed with contrasting embroidery cotton. The scarf is approximately 5ft long. I was inspired to make this yarn into a scarf through a TV programme. It was about a man who decided to give up all the comforts of civilisation and live in an isolated hut on a scottish island for 6 months and see if he could make it as a crofter. The colours in the yarn echoed the colours of the sea, sky and hills around his home - and it was a real pleasure to knit along and see a little bit of a tiny scottish island flying off my needles
