I've been trying out cutting solid shapes, rather than using wire to make the patterns on these copper pieces, I recently bought some metal shears, which makes it much easier on the very thin pieces of silver sheet that I have. I quite like this quirky little tree, it's not your usual Christmas jewellery and could definitely be worn all year round.

Full description
A disc of copper with an abstract Christmas tree shape in silver fused to the surface. There are little pieces of silver on the tree shape to give it a more three dimensional appearance. These are little off cuts and left over pieces from other projects and from the cutting of the tree shape.
The fusing technique gives a slightly unpredictable result, so the tree is fairly lopsided.
After polishing and doming the disc, a little more heat is applied which gives the copper some nice colours.
I found some patination liquids among my stuff and I've applied one called Aqua Blue to parts of the tree, it's intended for use on copper but I thought I'd see what effect it has on silver, it seems to have given the tree a slight mauve tint.
The pendant is finished with a fine layer of microcrystalline wax to preserve the colours and prevent oxidisation to some extent.
The pendant hangs by a copper jump ring on a very fine, natural leather thong, the thong is adjustable for length by two sliding knots so it can be worn however you like, choker length or longer.
