A lot of my jewellery is inspired by the sea, and often contains pieces of glass or ceramic found on my local beaches. In this one a small, translucent piece of white glass is set off by vintage and modern beads in sea colours. I've tried to echo the shapes of waves and surf.

Full description
Blue Green beaded necklace with a small white piece of sea glass at it's centre. Inspired by the waves on the coast of North Devon where I live.
The sea glass is held in a mount created by hand stitching beads around it onto a firm backing, once the glass is properly held in place a layer of leather is fixed to the back and more beads stitched around the edge. The necklace is completed by needle weaving with tiny seed beads to create the wave like shapes. The edges are finished with white beads representing foam. The needle weaving continues to form the necklace gradually narrowing to only two beads width. A loop of beads forms half of the fastener, with a handmade bead as the other half.
Delicate but dramatic the necklace sparkles in shades of blues, greens, silvers and rainbow effects.
