A denim blue and soft grey beanie knitted with the contour lines of Scafell and Scafell Pike, made in my Cumbrian studio for fell walkers, map lovers and anyone who carries the Lake District with them. A denim blue and soft grey beanie with the contours of Scafell Pike knitted right into the fabric, handmade in my Cumbrian studio. A cosy merino wool hat for anyone who loves the Lake District fells, whether they're bagging summits or dreaming of them from home. The pattern began as a map. My husband, Mark Appleton Design, drew the contour lines of Scafell and Scafell Pike, and I worked out how to translate those lines into stitches. Follow the pattern around the hat and you're tracing the shape of England's highest mountain. A deep ribbed cuff in solid denim blue turns up for extra warmth over your ears. The merino has no chemical superwash treatment, so it stays naturally soft, breathable and warm.
