A denim blue merino wool cowl knitted with the contour lines of Scafell and Scafell Pike, made in my Cumbrian studio for fell walkers, map lovers and anyone who carries the Lake District with them. The Contours Collection began with a love of walking maps that my husband and I share. Mark, of Mark Appleton Design, drew the contours of Scafell and Scafell Pike as a graphic, and I spent weeks working out a knitting pattern to bring his design into wool. The result is a piece of the fells you can wear on the fells. The cowl is doubled over, which gives it structure and traps warm air while wicking moisture away from your skin. That makes it as good on a windy summit as on a cold walk to the shops.
