Description

This pretty pink and white gingham is a little over 4 metres in length and is around 1.15cm wide including the selvage edges. There is a corner cut off, over the 4 metre mark, which I used to do a burn test, concluding that the fabric is not cotton, but more likely to be polycotton or polyester. This has been pre-washed and stored in a cupboard, more recently in a large plastic zip wallet with a pattern I was going to make. However, I changed my mind and am having a sort out so I decided to part with it. It has a soft drapey feel and would make a lovely 50s dress! Some of the photos give it a reddish tint, but the colour is really a very nice pink. If you have any questions, please ask.

A note from the seller

Drawing inspiration from vintage sewing patterns, mid-century design, Regency novels and nostalgic yearnings, I create things that remind us we can live an analogue life: one with a favourite book, a cup of tea and a cosy corner. An analogue life in which getting dressed up to go out dancing without filming it for social media is more fun. An analogue life in which it is an acceptable use of time to sit and watch that old black and white film whilst creating something by hand. I love creating items that will hopefully become a beloved piece and be passed down as a family heirloom. 2 lovely little bags, well made using beautiful retro designs. It's great too that both bags feature a design on each side. Many makers seem to only put a design on one side on a bag, cushion etc. and leave the other side plain, which I think is a shame. I would happily pay more for 2-sided design, always!
