Full description
This robin is hand made and measures approx, 9cm high and 12cm long. It is made from white earthenware clay and fired first in an electric kiln then the red glaze is painted on the breast and it is raku fired in a gas kiln, the dark part of the bird is unglazed so comes out a black/greyish colour after being smoked in sawdust, sometimes it has sawdust shadows smoked on to the surface. It is then washed, lightly sanded and polished with beeswax.
