Full description
This bird is hand made and measures, 5cm high and 7cm long. It is made from white earthenware clay and first fired in an electric kiln, it is then has four layers of red glaze painted on the breast. It is then raku fired in a gas kiln, the dark part of the bird is unglazed so comes out a black/greyish colour after being smoked in sawdust, sometimes it has sawdust shadows smoked in, it is then lightly sanded and polished with beeswax.
