Shop Announcement:

Coronavirus update: My Folksy shop is still open! While I always aim to send orders as quickly as possible, because I am limiting my visits to the Post Office, it may take a little longer than usual to send your parcel. The pdf pattern sales are unaffected. Keep knitting and stay safe!

Seaside Baby Blankets PDF Knitting Pattern

Seaside Baby Blankets PDF Knitting Pattern
£5.50 1 Available
Love this

This is an 11 page PDF knitting PATTERN with instructions for three sizes of baby blanket:
Small 45cm x 60cm (18" x 24"); medium 60cm x 75cm (24" x 30"); large 75cm x 75cm (30cm x 30cm).

The pattern is written as colour charts and written instructions in standard UK knitting terminology. There are 6 one shade squares, each with a different pattern and 6 "picture" squares. They are knitted from bottom to top in strips then sewn together vertically. The edging is knitted separately and sewn on. I usually back the small blanket with quilting, there are instructions for how to do this in the pattern.
You will need to know how to do intarsia and fair isle to knit this pattern.

Materials required: 1 pair 3.25mm knitting needles, cable needle, darning (sewing up) needle
Quilting if required 47cm x 62cm (small blanket)
Rowan Cotton Glace 100% cotton

There are 9 different shades in this pattern, some of which you will need in very small amounts. Some of the shades have been discontinued since the pattern was written. There are similar shades available in this yarn. You can buy knitting kits in my Folksy shop for these blankets which provide you with sufficient yarn to knit and sew up the blanket and offer a choice of edging shade.

The PDF file will be sent to your email address as an attachment. I aim to reply within 48 hours. Please message me if you have any queries about the pattern.

I designed these blankets to reflect the coast and seaside near where I live and as a reminder of happy days spent on the beach as a child. I was also inspired by the traditional designs used in fishermen's ganseys and Aran sweaters.
