'White Lilies' Linocut Print

This print was initially inspired by 'The Lily', a short poem by William Blake, but is ultimately a celebration of lilies in all of their beauty and variety. The piece started with my own photographs and sketches, with the decided composition drawn onto a traditional hessian backed lino, which I then cut and burnished onto a beautiful Japanese off-white 'Hosho' paper. The paper measures 28cm x 39.5cm, with the printed image itself measuring approx. 20cm x 31cm. This is a small edition of just 10 prints, printed in a lovely deep green oil based ink. Each is numbered, titled and signed and having been printed by hand, slight variations from print to print will occur; such is the beauty of a unique, hand-crafted piece. Your print will be posted to you wrapped in tissue and rolled within a cardboard tube. On its arrival, remove the print from the tube and allow it time to unfurl. (Lying the print on a flat surface under a heavy book may help to speed up the flattening process - do not be tempted to roll the print in the opposite way as this will almost certainly result in creasing and possibly in damaging the print). Please note that the listing is for the print only - the frame is not included.
