About this item
This pendant features a rhomboid shaped piece of spectrolite which has been smoothly bezel set in sterling silver and finished off with a simple loop bail at one corner. Spectrolite is related to labradorite and displays the same flashes of colour, in this piece they are blue and browny purple (similar to mahogany), but whilst labradorite has a grey or brown back ground colour, spectrolite has a black/ dark grey back ground. The flash of colours against the black reminds me of the northern lights against the midnight sky but in this piece the flash is at the bottom whilst the top section is just black. It displays might more flash in person than I've managed to capture in my photos. Spectrolite is only found in one part of Finland where the mining season is fairly short due to the cold weather, I bought the rough that this cabochon was cut from whilst visiting Finland and then had it custom cut back in the UK. Measures approx 40mm (inc bail) by 17mm and comes complete with a sterling silver chain (could easily be switched to a velvet ribbon or leather thong if you wanted to). Also comes gift boxed.

I am happy to wrap and send gifts direct to recipients with a note - just specify their delivery address when you check out (I use track 24 or special delivery so you can follow it round the country to the recipient).
