Curious about the enigmatic horned face on the front of the Reader's Digest Folklore, Myths and Legends of Britain book, I wanted to create a print for fellow lovers of Folkloric characters and stories, especially seeing as the original mask (photos of which I used as reference rather than the illustration) is lost to time. Reading up about it I found out it was likely used in charivari processions, also known as a Skimmington ride, where a scandal was performed in mock serenade to shame the culprits. Also available, this size and the larger design on white, and as an orange 38mm pin badge, in my shop.

Bought 1 itemThis is my third attempt to express my delight on impulsively allowing the www to find Tamsyn Swingler. And almost as though she was waiting, my chosen artifacts were dispatched and arrived safely. I'm reminded of Dr Strangely Strange. But in this case weirdly normal.
